  1. Meet Hairy Harry!

We found Hairy Harry nearly 2 weeks ago on a farm outside of Mokpo. He was on a chain and on death's door, but his owner agreed to let us take him with us, as he could not take Harry to the vets himself and was waiting for him to die.

We took Harry to Pet119 in Mokpo where the vet diagnosed him as having very severe heart worm and a kind of tummy bug which was making him vomit. He was also extremely malnourished and couldn't stand up or even lift his head. The vet gave him a 50% chance of survival.

Harry spent the past week on a drip at the vets being treated for heart worm and his tummy bug and today the vet let us take him home. He is still in a very weak condition and will always have a slight (2%) chance of having heart attack in the future. His eyesight may also have been damaged by the heart worm, he can see, but it's too soon to tell how well. He is eating now and the vomiting has stopped which is a very good sign. He can stand up and walk around and even wag his tail sometimes!

After maybe another week we should be able to give Harry a bath and see what is under that dirty matted coat!! Currently he weighs around 3kg...but he should be MUCH heavier than that!

Harry is looking for a foster home or a forever home as we are currently fostering 3 other dogs and have got our hands full!!

So far his vet fees have topped W500,000 (for medicine, accommodation and care) so any help would be greatly appreciated. His future heart worm treatment should be much less expensive, but it is still something to take into consideration if you are thinking of taking him on.

I will try to post as many photos as I can of Harry now that he is home.

    Thanks for looking!!!
